Held annually in Tokyo, the Supermarket Trade Show attracts key buyers from supermarkets and food retailers in Japan. Nearly 90,000 visitors and 1,900 exhibitors attended the Supermarket Trade Show in 2018. The U.S. Pavilion at this USDA-endorsed show welcomed 17 exhibitors reporting close to $3.8 million in 12-month projected sales of U.S. agricultural products. U.S. exhibitors made over 142 serious business contacts and introduced 133 new products in the market. The most popular U.S. products at the show were organic products, bagels, soft drinks, turkey and duck products, fresh and natural cheese, spread, healthy snacks, ready to eat blueberries, mini grape tomato, ripe olives, oranges, yogurt pretzels, and chilled beef. The 17 U.S. exhibitors included 5 small-to-medium size and 4 new-to-market companies.
