In 2016, FAS The Hague organized promotional activities for U.S. seafood, pulses, tree nuts, and specialty products; actual sales from these activities were approximately $40 million. We secured the release of U.S. agricultural products valued at over $270,000 that were detained by port officials. And we negotiated new certificate language with Danish veterinary authorities that opened the market for U.S. hay; annual purchases are estimated at $80,000. This report provides an overview of U.S. export interests in the Netherlands and the Nordics, and lists our main successes this past year.
