Bulgaria: Fresh Deciduous Fruit Sector Update

  |   Attaché Report (GAIN)

Over the last two years, Bulgarian apple and pear production enjoyed very good average yields and production hit a record high for the last 15 years. Table grapes were an exception with a record low crop in MY2014/15 due to adverse weather conditions. Prospects for MY2015/16 to date for the three major products are very good due to favorable winter weather with moderate temperatures, sufficient
soil moisture and an almost ideal spring in May.
