The U.S. Department of Agriculture is now accepting applications for the 2017 Food for Progress Program. Food for Progress helps developing countries and emerging democracies modernize and strengthen their agricultural sectors. U.S. agricultural commodities donated to recipient countries are sold on the local market and the proceeds are used to support programs that improve agricultural productivity and expand trade of agricultural products. Projects normally last three to five years.
Organizations eligible to apply include foreign governments, intergovernmental organizations, private voluntary organizations, cooperatives and nongovernmental organizations.
The application deadline is January 19, 2017.
Visit the Food for Progress Program page to learn more about the program and to apply online.
