India: Modified 2016 Food Import Regulations

On September 2, 2016, the Government of India’s (GOI) Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) modified its food import regulations.
Rains have caused flooding in five states, although pan-India rainfall is three percent below the 10-year average for the southwest monsoon (June 1 through Aug. 28).
The final amendment on standards and labeling for irradiated foods was published in the Official Gazette of India.
