Poland: Sixth 2020 ASF Outbreak in Northeastern Poland

On July 3, 2020, Poland’s Chief Veterinary Officer (CVO) officially notified an African swine fever (ASF) outbreak on a 122-head hog farm in the Warmia and Mazury Province in northeastern Poland. The affected herd consisted of ten sows, 27 piglets, one boar, and 84 other pigs. Veterinary authorities implemented protection and surveillance procedures to contain the outbreak. This outbreak is Poland’s sixth commercial ASF outbreak in 2020.
