Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW) proposed revisions to Japan’s maximum residue levels for 5 agricultural chemicals (Flonicamid, Fluoxastrobin, Polyoxorim-zinc, Prothiofos, and 3-Nitrooxypropanol) for various agricultural commodities. In addition, MHLW proposed to newly designate Polyvinyl alcohol as a food additive. Lastly, MHLW proposed to revise compositional standards for milk and milk products. Interested U.S. parties should submit their comments to PlantDivision@usda.gov for plant products, TFAA.FAS.AnimalDivision@usda.gov for animal products, and PPTRD@usda.gov for processed products by December 18, 2023.
