India: Government of India Notifies Standards for Fortifying Processed Food Products

On December 18, 2020, the Government of India’s (GOI) Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) published in its Gazette the Food Safety and Standards (Fortification of Foods) First Amendment Regulations, 2020. The regulations include permissible micronutrient fortification levels of processed food products including breads, pastas, breakfast cereals, and other products. The entry into force of the regulation is July 1, 2021.
