China: MARA Publishes Q and A on Agricultural Biotechnology

On August 24, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (MARA) published on its website the transcript of a question-and-answer session on agricultural biotechnology. The transcript provides perspective on MARA’s approach to biosafety for genetically engineered (GE) products and efforts to expand commercial cultivation of GE corn and soybeans.
