Vietnam is currently recovering from the 2019 African Swine Fever outbreak, with estimated flat animal feed demand in marketing year (MY) 2019/20. As the swine industry repopulates, Post forecasts increased soybean meal demand in MY2020/21. Vietnam maintains strong demand for oilseeds for food and oil consumption, Post estimates an increase in imports of soybeans in MY2019/20 and MY2020/21. Increased domestic crush capacity is also expected to increase soybean import demand to meet domestic feed and oil consumption needs.
