Turkey: Turkiye Opens Import Quota for One Million Metric Tons of Corn

On May 1, the Turkish government announced a zero-duty tariff rate quota for 1.0 million metric tons (MMT) of imported corn. The TRQ is effective from the announcement date through the end of July this year. The aim of the quota is to stabilize the price and supply of corn available on the local market. This is the third time that the government has opened a TRQ for corn in marketing year 2024/25 (Sep-Aug); the combined total of the first two quotas was 2.0 MMT.
