Turkey: Grain and Feed Update

Turkey’s marketing year (MY) 2020/21 corn planting area is expected to be about 620,000 hectares (ha) and production will total 7 million metric tons (MMT). The MY 2020/21 Turkish paddy rice planting area is about 97,000 ha and production is estimated at 882,000 MT. Domestic grain prices are increasing in parallel with the international market. The Turkish Grain Board (TMO) completed a series of tenders in August, September, and October 2020 to buy wheat and barley.
