Taiwan: Dairy and Products Annual

  |   Attaché Report (GAIN)

U.S. fresh milk exports to Taiwan are on track to reach a new record in 2017. Exports for the first eight months of 2017 reached 19,015 tons, up 34 percent from the same period last year. Milk consumption, production, and total imports are expected to remain relatively stable in 2017 and 2018. High out-of-quota tariffs and Taiwan’s special safeguard mechanism (SSG) limit total imports and protect Taiwan’s domestic dairy industry.
