Chickpeas, also known as garbanzo beans, are a legume full of protein, fiber, complex carbohydrates, and are relatively low in calories. Chickpeas are used in many Indian and Mediterranean dishes. Australia, India, and Canada are the top three chickpea exporters accounting for more than 40 percent of the world’s exports in 2022. Pakistan is the largest importer, followed by the European Union, Bangladesh, and Turkey.

Australia’s table grape production is expected to increase to a record 220,000 MT in marketing year (MY) 2023/24 from an estimated 210,000 metric tons (MT) in MY 2022/23.

Australian oilseed production is expected to be strong again in marketing year (MY) 2021/22, continuing the recovery that started in MY 2020/21 following two years of extreme drought.

Cotton production in Australia is set to climb to 3.9 million bales in marketing year (MY) 2021/22, 50 percent higher than the estimated MY 2020/21 result and 15 percent above the previous 10-year average.
