In 2014 the total fish catch in Estonia was 67,964 MT, which included the Baltic Sea, long-distance and inland fisheries. The majority of Estonian supplies of fish originate from the Baltic Sea catch.
For the past five years Estonian timber industry has shown stable growth. Forests and wood industries’ share of Estonian GDP reached 22 percent in 2014.
On April 28, 2015, the European Parliament approved the reform of the Renewable Energy Directive (RED), which includes a 7 percent cap on food crop based biofuels for the transport sector.
