India: Fresh Deciduous Fruit Annual

India’s domestic apple production in marketing year (MY) 2024/2025 is forecast 6 percent higher at 2.55 million metric tons (MMT) due to favorable weather conditions in the apple growing regions.
China removed quarantine access requirements for frozen fruit imports in August 2024. This allows frozen fruit imports from any country, according to the updated imported food catalogue by the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC).
On July 11, 2024, China notified draft National Food Safety Standard Dried Fruit and Dried Vegetable to the World Trade Organization (WTO) under G/SPS/N/CHN/1302.

This report covers peaches, nectarines, and cherries. Despite a persistent drought in northern China, production of peaches and nectarines is expected to gain slightly in MY 2024/25 to 17.6 MMT. Cherry production is estimated to continue increasing by 9 percent in MY 2024/25 to 850,000 MT on expanded area and increased bearings.
