Australian oilseed production, dominated by canola, is expected to be strong for the fifth consecutive season during the marketing year (MY) 2025/26.
Australian oilseed production, dominated by canola, is expected to be strong for the fourth successive season during the marketing year (MY) 2024/25. If realized, canola production of 6.5 million metric tons (MMT) would be 14 percent above the previous year’s estimate and the third largest on record.
During a national oilseeds conference, industry representatives noted that domestic oilseed production increased from 2.5 million hectares in 2020 to 3.4. million hectares in 2022, and they further expect production to reach 5 million hectares by 2027.
