Post estimates China’s production of apples, pears, and table grapes to increase moderately to 48 MMT, 20.2 MMT, and 14.2 MMT, respectively, in MY 2024/25. Substituted by domestic counterparts, grape imports are expected to further decline.

Egyptian table grape production is forecast to increase to 1.59 million metric tons (MMT) in marketing year (MY) 2024/25 (October 2024 through September 2025).

On August 7-9, 2024, the World Apple and Pear Association (WAPA) presented the 2024 EU apple and pear crop forecast at the 49th edition of the Prognosfruit convention. WAPA forecasts the 2024 EU fresh apple crop at 10.2 million metric tons (MT), 11.2 percent below the 2023 harvest.
