Russia: Draft Amendments to EAEU Food Safety Regulations Notified to WTO

Russia and Kyrgyzstan notified the World Trade Organization (WTO) of draft amendments to the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) Technical Regulation on food safety establishing maximum residue limits for veterinary drugs in food products of animal origin via G/TBT/N/RUS/109, G/SPS/N/RUS/210 and G/SPS/N/KGZ/19. According to the notifications, the public comment period for the draft will close on April 6, 2021. Armenia and Kazakhstan have not yet notified the measure to the WTO. Interested U.S. parties are encouraged to share their comments and/or concerns with USDA’s enquiry points (ncsci@nist.gov and us.spsenquirypoint@fas.usda.gov). For potential inclusion in the U.S. official position, please send your comments by March 23, 2021.
