  |   Attaché Report (GAIN)   |   RP2025-0012
The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) has approved the lowering of the milling recovery rate (MRR) of palay to rice from 65.4 to 63.0 percent. The updated MRR will be used as the conversion factor for generating the Rice Stocks Inventory and compiling PSA’s Supply and Utilization Accounts for rice, starting in January 2025. The PSA’s new MRR is the same as the USDA/FAS’ milling rate used in FAS’ production, supply, and distribution forecasts and estimates for the Philippines.
