Mexico: Success Story ATO Monterrey Helps Cheese Shipments Cross the Border

In February 2015 an Illinois-based grocery manufacturing and processing business contacted USDA FAS Washington over problems exporting cheese to Mexico. ATO Monterrey followed up by giving expert border-crossing guidance and valuable assistance about filling out documentation required by the Government of Mexico competent authorities. The Agricultural Trade Office in Monterrey, Mexico resolved the import documentation complexities and the exporter was able to cross 11 of 12 shipments, valued at U.S. $1.4 million into Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas.
