FAS/Astana forecasts Kazakhstan wheat production in 2015 at 12.5 MMT, down slightly from 2014 production of 12.9 MMT, as wheat sown area is expected to fall, reducing harvested area. Kazakh wheat exports are forecast to remain flat in MY 2015/2016 at 6.0 MMT. FAS/Astana forecasts Kazakhstan barley production in 2015 at 2.7 MMT, only slightly higher than in 2014 (2.6 MMT).
