Indonesian Ministry of Trade (MOT) Regulation 78/2014 establishes provisions for the import of wood and wood products to Indonesia. Importers will be required to obtain import approval, which will be issued following the importer’s provision of proof that the wood product was legally harvested. Ministry of Environment and Forestry (MEF) regulation 7/2015 establishes the general terms by which an importer can provide proof of legal harvest and sustainability. Implementation of 78/2014 is delayed until January 1, 2016, as specified per MOT Regulation 63/2015.
