India: Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza Outbreak in India

The Government of India (GOI) reported a detection of the H5N1 strain of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) in January 2016 to the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE). The detection occurred in the state of Tripura. The GOI issued an advisory to the affected state to contain the outbreak.
