Post estimates marketing year (MY) 2019/20 cotton production at 29.7 million 480 lb. bales (37.6 million 170-kilogram bales/6.3 MMT) with a planting area of 13 million hectares. Heavy rains in September are likely to impact the yields with reports of pest infestation across various states. Textile sector shows early signs of revival as exports of cotton yarn and cotton fabric improve.
