Ethiopia: Ethiopia Tenders for Imported Milling Wheat

  |   Attaché Report (GAIN)

In mid-January, Ethiopia cut the size of its earlier-announced milling wheat tender of 720,000 metric tons to 400,000 metric tons. The likely reason for reducing the tender size is the anticipated increase in wheat production from this past harvest and available wheat stocks. Post is currently projecting wheat imports this year (Sep ‘16-Oct ’17) to be between 1.0- 1.5 million metric tons.
