Ethiopia: Ethiopia’s Ag Imports Continue Growing

  |   Attaché Report (GAIN)

Ethiopia’s agriculture imports reached $1.8 billion in 2015. Future imports are expected to increase as the country’s economy and population continue to grow at a faster pace than local production capacity. Presently, commercial imports of U.S. agricultural products (excluding food aid) range from $30-40 million each year. By comparison, Ethiopia’s agricultural exports to the United States appear to have reached a record of nearly $160 million in 2015.
