On August 22, 2025, Peru announced a 90-day public consultations period on a regulation for hemp to implement Law 32195. Peru has not notified this standard to the WTO to date. Stakeholders should conduct their own review of the regulations to assess any market or regulatory impact on their business operations.

India’s fiber market is dominated by cotton, however, increased international demand for sustainable fibers is driving apparel and textile manufacturers to utilize hemp.

This report describes the current trends and developments of the industrial hemp sector in the Netherlands. Key highlight include the Netherlands’ National Approach Biobased Building, a strategy for construction through which it aims to have 30 percent of all newly built houses and utility buildings constructed with at least 30 percent bio-based construction materials by 2030.
