China: New and Renewed Biosafety Certificates Issued

On December 27, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (MARA) announced the issuance of new and renewed biosafety certificates for genetically engineered (GE) events. The announcement includes 34 certificates issued for biotech crops approved for import as processing materials and 19 renewed certificates for domestic cultivation and production. The validity period of the new biosafety certificates is five years.
