Chile: FAIRS Country Report
On October 16, 2013, President Sebastián Piñera signed the draft bill that will create the new Ministry of Agriculture, Food, Fisheries and Forestry. On April 2014, the new Administration through the new Minister of Agriculture withdrew the bill arguing that it was not a priority of the Administration and there were more important things to focus on as an earthquake had just struck the north of Chile earlier in the month.
