Canada: Dairy and Products Annual

  |   Attaché Report (GAIN)

Canadian markets for milk, butter, cheese and skim milk powder will remain unsettled in the short term as supply and distribution patterns respond to sustained increases in consumer demand for butterfat and major policy changes. Implementation of the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement, in late 2017, would create additional market access for European dairy products and further uncertainty in the Canadian market. FAS/Ottawa anticipates that Canada will export record high volumes of skim milk powder in 2017 and 2018.
