The Biosafety Law, 2012 contains information on the biotechnology approval process in Burkina Faso for GE products developed domestically or by a third country. It also outlines the different bodies involved in that process and is a recommended reference for U.S. agricultural interests investigating import regulations for GE commodities or products derived from GE commodities in Burkina Faso. This report contains an INFORMAL translation of the original text, as well as a copy of the original text in French.

On March 15, 2022, the People’s Republic of China (PRC) State Administration for Market Regulation and National Standardization Committee released National Food Safety Standard for Drinking Water Quality (GB5749-2022), which entered into force on April 1, 2023.
