In 2016 Bulgaria followed EU agricultural and food import requirements. Please see GAIN report E16060 for detailed description of EU import regulations and requirements. No new or additional national import requirements have been introduced by Bulgaria. Please, see BU1546 for import certification requirements. In 2016 Bulgaria liberalized import procedures for U.S. almonds and peanuts. New labeling requirements are currently under debate but are not introduced yet. Turkey: Turkish Government Intervenes in Lemon Exports

The Ministry of Trade temporarily banned lemon exports as of April 8, 2025, due to a predicted supply shortage following cold weather and frost damage in the southeast.
The European Parliament took an initial step to open market access for beet and oilseed planting seeds from Ukraine. The EU approved cereal planting seeds from Ukraine in 2020.
