The turnover of the Dutch retail sector was valued at $48.7 billion in 2022. The sector is relatively consolidated, with the two largest food retailers controlling almost 60 percent of the market. Retail prices of some basic shopping items increased by 15 percent, resulting in consumers visiting multiple supermarkets and increasingly choosing private label products.
In MY 2022/23, European Union (EU) citrus production is projected to amount to 10.4 million metric tons (MMT), 10 percent down from the previous season, especially impacting oranges and lemons, and slightly lower than previous estimations.
The European Commission published Delegated Act 2023/905 in the Official Journal on May 4, 2023. This Act addresses the rules under Article 118 of the EU Veterinary Medicinal Products Regulation 2019/6 for the use of certain antimicrobial medicinal products in animals or products of animal origin exported from third countries to the European Union.
