Health restrictions eased during 2021 but the foodservice sector has yet to recover pandemic-related losses. The industry will also continue to make adjustments due to changes in consumer behavior.
Increasing corn and soybean meal prices are affecting livestock producers’ bottom line. Poultry and dairy producers are the most affected.
Fishmeal production in MY 2021/2022 is forecast at 900,000 MT. Fishmeal exports in MY 2021/2022 are estimated at 894,000 MT, remaining at the same levels as the previous year.
