The Government of Senegal is reviewing and revising its new biosafety law which may include language for an expedited approval process for certain genetically engineered (GE) products.
As of October 2020, Vietnam has issued 45 Certificates of Food/Feed Approval for genetically engineered (GE) products for corn, soybeans, canola, sugar beets, alfalfa, and cotton.
Due to COVID-19, Vietnam’s cotton imports dropped 7 percent in marketing year (MY) 2019/2020, to 6.47 million bales [or 1.41 million metric tons (MMT)].
