Ukraine: Ukrainian Governmental Policies on Climate Change

Ukraine has ambitions regarding combating climate change at the level of its laws and regulations.
The European Union follows a complex, rolling system of review for use of active ingredients and Maximum Residue Levels (MRLs) in food. For agricultural inputs, U.S. farmers must know early in the process to be able to provide input on their priorities and prevent or mitigate the loss of access to safe chemicals.
On September 13, 2021, India’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry/Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), published Notification No. 25/2015-2020, clarifying that it is authorizing the import of consignments of soybean meal and soy cake derived from genetically engineered (GE) soybeans with a bill of lading or lorry (truck) receipt date issued on or before October 31, 2021.
Japan’s Agency of Natural Resources and Energy will accept public comments on its proposed 6th Strategic Energy Plan between September 3 and October 4, 2021. All comments must be submitted in Japanese.
On March 27, 2019, Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW) released its regulatory policy for the handling of food products derived from genome editing technology.

Tanzania: Agricultural Biotechnology Annual

Most Tanzanians are not knowledgeable about genetic engineering (GE) and GE products, with the exception of a small population with tertiary-level education.
In January 2019, China approved five new genetically engineered traits and renewed the bio-safety certificates for 26 traits previously approved.
