Argentina will cut export taxes on major agricultural commodities, effective January 27, 2025, on key crops including soybeans, corn, and wheat.
Wheat production in marketing year (MY) 2024/25 is estimated at 18.1 tons, higher on a larger area. Exports remain unchanged, with Brazil expected to be quite active.
Post maintains the previous forecast for marketing year (MY) 2024/25 for Argentina's soybean production at 52 million metric tons (MMT), consistent with the USDA's official estimate.
The first shipment of fresh Argentine lemons is en route to the U.S. following market access granted in August, 2017 for delivery to East Coast ports up to 30,000 tons per year.
