The Food and Agricultural Import Regulations and Standards (FAIRS) report provides an overview of the food laws and regulatory environment in Algeria as it relates to food and agricultural exports.

This report provides information on export certificates required by the Government of Algeria. Effective December 31, 2021, a new regulation requiring Algerian importers to have an electronic trade register for each single sub-group of products they import will be implemented.

Good opportunities may exist again for U.S. Grain exports due to the exemption from VAT for products destined for animal feed and the removal of the import licenses.
