The Food and Agricultural Import Regulations and Standards (FAIRS) report provides an overview of the food laws and regulatory environment in Algeria as it relates to food and agricultural exports.
This report provides information on export certificates required by the Government of Algeria. Effective December 31, 2021, a new regulation requiring Algerian importers to have an electronic trade register for each single sub-group of products they import will be implemented.
Opportunities exist for U.S. agricultural products especially bulk commodities. Algeria has implemented measures to support intensive production, particularly in cereals and dairy.
