In marketing year (MY) 2024/25, Bulgaria harvested its smallest oilseed crop in 15 years due to hot and dry summer weather negatively impacting yields.

Following very good 2015 year for the stone fruit sector with higher harvested areas, yields and supply,in 2016 the weather has been more challenging to date.

In 2015 and early 2016 the livestock and red meat sector had a positive development with a growth in swine and beef cattle inventory.

In 2013 and 2014 Bulgaria’s vine and wine sectors began to stabilize and show growth after years of decline.
