Angola is facing its most severe drought in the last 40 years, impacting the food security of 1.6 million people in southern Angola, including more than 110,000 children under the age of five who are facing acute malnutrition, according to the World Food Programme (WFP).
Rains have caused flooding in five states, although pan-India rainfall is three percent below the 10-year average for the southwest monsoon (June 1 through Aug. 28).
The Government of Ethiopia and international partners continue to work together to respond to the drought-related humanitarian needs.
