The Food and Agricultural Import Regulations and Standards (FAIRS) report provides an overview of the food laws and regulatory environment in Algeria as it relates to food and agricultural exports.

This report provides information on export certificates required by the Government of Algeria. Effective December 31, 2021, a new regulation requiring Algerian importers to have an electronic trade register for each single sub-group of products they import will be implemented.

The Ministry of Agriculture foresees a slight decline in the MY2016/2017 grain production because of drought conditions and as result of a lack of rain in production areas of Algeria.
