There is no commercial production of genetically engineered (GE) crops in Jamaica.
Jamaica is one of the main tourist destinations in the Caribbean region, with over two million tourist arrivals in 2015. Approximately 1.3 millions of these tourists were from the United States.
Paraguayan beef exports for 2017 are forecast to increase marginally at 395,000 tons carcass weight equivalent.
2016/17 Paraguayan soybean area is forecast to grow marginally to 3.33 million hectares, an increase of 1 percent.
Wheat production for crop 2016/17 is forecast at 1.0 million tons, lower than the previous year due to expected low farmer returns.
Post estimates that Jamaica's production will increase to 140,000 MT in 2016/17. The improved performance will be due mainly to an increase in the number of sugar factories that will be in operation.
