Lithuania: Poultry Meat and Egg Production in Lithuania

Lithuania is the largest poultry meat producer among Baltic States. In 2014 production of poultry meat amounted to 99,700 MT and was 4 percent higher than in 2013.
It is estimated that in 2015 milk deliveries in Lithuania will remain at the previous year’s level. The Russian import ban and reduced export demand resulted in a drop of farm-gate milk prices.

Taiwan: Conclusion of the 2015 U.S. Rice CSQ Tender

The 2015 U.S. Rice CSQ tender concluded on November 17 after the tender GF4-104-128 for 10,884 MT of U.S. long grain brown rice was successfully awarded.
On October 29, Taiwan completed two normal tenders of the 2015 U.S. rice CSQ, GF4-104-115 for 9,000 MT of long grain brown rice and GF4-104-123 for 4,000 MT of medium or short grain rice.

In MY2014/15, Taiwan imported a total of 156,007 metric tons (MT) of apples, valued at nearly US$240 million.
On October 22, Taiwan completed a normal tender GF4-104-105 for 4,000 MT of U.S. medium or short grain rice and scheduled another normal tender for October 29.
