Wheat production in marketing year (MY) 2021-2022 is forecast at a record 20 million tons, and exports are projected at 13.5 million tons (including flour in its wheat equivalent), both unchanged from USDA’s official numbers.
Post lowers its MY 2021/22 projected planted area for soybeans to 17.0 million hectares. This reduction of 500,000 hectares will translate to total projected production of 49.7 million metric tons, 2.3 million metric tons below the USDA Official estimate.
Robust soybean planting in Cordoba province and smooth planting in the rest of the country are trending national production area towards the 2014/15 soybean forecast of 21 million hectares.
Post forecasts production at above normal levels as production rebounds following 2014 series of bad weather and to the natural lifecycle of plants.
Wheat production for 2014-15 is forecast at 12.5 million tons, 500,000 tons higher than USDA.
