Coffee production in MY 2022/2023 is forecast at 4.03 million 60-kilogram bags, an increase of two percent from the previous year. Peru’s coffee exports in MY 2022/2023 are forecast at 3.95 million 60-kilogram bags, a slight increase from the previous year.
In marketing year 2021/2022 (MY21/22 Oct - Sept) strong demand for imported coffee products is expected to increase imports to 4 million 60-kilogram (KG) bags green been equivalent (GBE), a 5 percent increase over MY20/21 imports.
This biannual report, published in June and December, includes data on U.S. and global trade, production, consumption and stocks, as well as analysis of developments affecting world trade in coffee.
Honduras ranks first in Central America, third in Latin America, and sixth globally in coffee exports by volume.
In 2014/2015, coffee production reached over 2 million 60 kg bags, a 14 percent increase compared to the previous cycle.
MY15/16 production is forecast at 6.508 million bags (390,500 metric tons), slightly under the record levels expected during the previous year.
