FAS/Sofia estimates a reduction in Bulgarian oilseeds crops in marketing year (MY) 2024/25 due to extremely hot and dry weather conditions in July and August. FAS/Sofia estimates the rapeseed crop at 190,000 metric tons (MT), down nine percent from last year and 36 percent from two years ago.

Forecast soybean production for MY 24/25 is unchanged at 19.6 million metric tons (MMT) based on a planted area of 9.95 million hectares (Mha). Relatively low and declining soybean meal (SBM) prices since the beginning of MY 23/24 could encourage more SBM use in feed production.

Bulgaria already exported its rapeseeds surplus with exports reaching 460,000 MT at the end of November.

Turkish soybean area and production for market year (MY) 2014 are about 35,000 hectares and 130,000 metric tons (MT).

India’s current area planted for rabi (winter sown) oilseeds is 5.2 million hectares (MHA), an increase of two percent over 2013, primarily due to higher rapeseed and mustard area.

Post revises 2013/14 crude palm oil (CPO) production down by 500,000 metric tons (MT) to 30.5 million MT.
