This monthly report includes data on U.S. and global trade, production, consumption and stocks, as well as analysis of developments affecting world trade in oilseeds.

Marketing year (MY) 2014 sunflowerseed area and production is now estimated at 530,000 hectares and 1.2 million metric tons (MMT).

Post’s August forecast for MY14/15 total oilseed production is 56.8 million tons, down by 3.3 percent from an estimated 58.7 million tons in MY13/14, primarily due to lower cottonseed production.

This report provides EU-28 production, supply, and demand forecasts for major EU oilseeds, protein meals and related products.

For (marketing year) MY 2014/15, total oilseed production is expected to decrease by 3.4 percent to 36.5 million metric tons (MMT) on lower kharif (fall and early harvested) area due to poor weather.
