In response to elevated egg prices in the United States, Türkiye has ramped up its breaking egg shipments to the United States.

Starting in 2025, Taiwan will eliminate tariffs on liquid milk imports from New Zealand. Taiwan dairy farmers are worried about the future, as the primary dairy product in Taiwan is fresh milk, with only a small portion used for other dairy beverages or products.

Chicken meat production for 2025 is forecast to hit a record after a below average performance the previous year. Most of the anticipated increase in production will go for domestic consumption, which continues to grow since chicken is expected to remain significantly cheaper than beef.

In MY 2023, Taiwan’s liquid milk production is estimated to reach 474,000 tons and is forecast to see a slight increase in MY 2024. However, the long-term liquid milk outlook is complex and subject to unstable dynamics due to New Zealand dairy products soon to have unlimited tariff-free access to the Taiwan market in 2025.

Since the beginning of 2023, the Turkish Lira (TL) has weakened by around 20 percent against the U.S. dollar. Despite the economic turmoil, demand for chicken meat is relatively stable, even with expected increased poultry market prices in correlation with increasing inflation.
